Installation of exhibition - taken from entry way

Industrial / De-industrial exhibition examines Geelong’s evolving industrial identity through a combination of historical artefacts and contemporary creative work. Drawing on archival materials from Deakin Library and projects from the Architecture Vacancy Lab, the exhibition reflects on industrial decline, urban change, and the social and cultural narratives embedded in the region’s built environment.

The Fire Within

The Fire Within exhibition is an immersive exhibition exploring cultural connection to place through both Indigenous knowledge and scientific research. It features a large-scale, site-specific installation by artist Lowell Hunter alongside The Earth Above, a planetarium experience that takes audiences through 140,000 years of Australia’s history. Together, these works highlight the significance of Country, storytelling, and the intersection of traditional knowledge and contemporary technology.

Exhibitions were a newly introduced offering at Deakin University Library, requiring the development of dedicated support from the Visual Design function.

Using the Double Diamond design process, I created and facilitated a design workshop framework that enables curators and the visual design team to collaboratively develop the visual identity for each exhibition. These workshops translate curatorial intent into a cohesive visual direction—defining brand attributes, colour palettes, typography, audience, and key asset requirements, as well as spatial considerations such as vinyl application and layout design.

To ensure consistency and scalability across projects, I developed a suite of reusable Miro workshop templates that can be adapted to exhibitions of varying size and complexity. This approach has streamlined collaboration while maintaining a high standard of design output.

The work shown above represents a selection of exhibitions where I have led end-to-end visual design; spanning concept development, visual identity creation, and execution of all marketing collateral. This includes digital and print assets, environmental graphics, and exhibition-specific communications. I also oversaw asset development and production, ensuring alignment from concept through to final delivery.

Each project required close collaboration with printers, academics, curators, subject matter experts, and senior stakeholders to deliver cohesive and impactful exhibition experiences.
